The Sbarro Health Research Organization (SHRO), a world-renowned center of excellence for cancer research based in Philadelphia, USA, is about to establish its first scientific hub in Italy: a 12,000 square meter high-tech campus located in Candiolo, in the province of Turin. The initiative will be coordinated by SHRO and Rigenera HBW.

“The project, strongly supported by President Antonio Giordano, Vice President Giancarlo Arra, and Director Antonio Graziano, aims to bring back to Italy the scientific research excellence that has made SHRO a global benchmark in Philadelphia,” reads the official announcement.

The Board of Directors of Sbarro Health Organization Italia, officially established at the notary Gallo Orsi, includes President Antonio Giordano, Vice President Giancarlo Arra, Antonio Graziano, Riccardo d’Aquino, Massimo Petrone, Giuseppe Petrella, and Antonio Giacomini (CEO of Innovaway).

Among the key goals of SHRO Italia is not only to provide space and support for young researchers, but also to facilitate the return of talented professionals who have had to pursue opportunities abroad.

“Thanks to SHRO’s efforts,” explained Antonio Giordano during the recent Research Gala in Vico Equense, “over 600 young people—almost all Italian—are now in leadership roles across the global health ecosystem or have received scholarships to enter the world of research in the United States. It’s a unique opportunity to master the most advanced research techniques and leverage cutting-edge technologies in the fight against cancer.”
